Every year on Feb. 14 (Valentine's day), hundreds of lovers swear for love and faithfulness in front of the grave of the Saint Patron of lovers in the basilica of Terni near Rome.inside the church, paintings refering to events in the life of St. Valentine.During the ceremony, couples are given a document signed by the rector of the basilica and mayor of the city, which certifies that both lovers have sworn love and faithfulness in front of St. Valentine's grave.The "Promises celebration" is presided by the bishop of Terni, his Lordship Vincenzo Paglia. |
